BIO

I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in art with an emphasis in photography. After shooting many crazy, stressful weddings and working in a photo lab for three years, I realized that a career as a photographer may very well destroy my love for it. I had to reserve photography as a mode of inspiration and the basis for my artwork. While working at the San Francisco Art Institute, I took post graduate classes in art and photography and later, at JFK University was accepted into the Master’s degree program in art there, but was unable to continue due to UCOP grant funding through UC Berkeley, running out.
Eventually, I decided to explore a career in Graphic Design which ended up being a perfect fit for me. I went to school at night and received my Certificate in Graphic Design, with Distinction from the UC Berkeley Extension program. I was finally able to utilize my creativity, photographic skills and writing (I started at UC Santa Barbara with a major in English) in print and web communications and actually make money doing it! As we all know, most artists have a hard time getting to the "making money" part. I have now worked for International House, UC Berkeley for about 20 years in communications and design (print and on-line). I’ve lived in California most of my life and currently reside in Lafayette with my husband Alex and my three girls. Natasha (18) is a sophomore at Cal Poly, San Louis Obispo, Alexa (16) is a junior at Acalanes High School and Emilie (22), is a recent graduate of Chico State University.
I continue to be a practicing artist and have had exhibitions of my art throughout the Bay Area.
